A float with a replica of the Oil Springs School was made and entered in the Harpers Ferry Memorial Day Parade.  Candy was shared with spectators and the float was well received.

The Oil Springs School was opened on several occasions for special events, “Music in the Park”, and upon request.  We have been pleasantly surprised that many of the youth ages 8 to 15 have visited numerous times and are very interested in the history of the school and education in the past.  We did have a day to clean up the school and many volunteer hands made for a clean school in a short time.  Over 100 children and adults from several (6) states including Alaska visited the Oil Springs School this year.

A new and revised brochure is being developed for the Oil Springs School which will highlight programming and educational opportunities the school has to offer.
